1st Latin American Shamisen Contest

In this event, 60 shamisen players from Latin America sent their videos to participate in at least one of the 4 categories of the championship:

*BEGINNER: For newcomers to the instrument. They have to play 1 out of 5 minyo list songs (Soran Bushi, Hanagasa Ondo, Kuroda Bushi, Hokkai Bon-uta, Funakogi Nagashi-uta) 
DUO & TRIO: For people which get together (in person or virtually) to record any minyo or tsugaru minyo song;
MODERN: For participants which perform their own interpretations of modern music or their own compositions (individually or in groups);
SOLO: For experts candidates who play a minyo or tsugaru minyo alone competing for the top prize.

 

In addition to the championship itself, the event features interviews and guest appearances, including the presence of masters KINZABUROU and GINZABUROU ABE, brothers and leaders of the ABEYA group from Japan!
